Formula
MC (dry basis) % = (m_wet − m_dry) / m_dry · 100
MC (wet basis) % = (m_wet − m_dry) / m_wet · 100
Assumptions and limits
The timber trade normally uses the dry basis. Use the same mass unit for both values. Oven-dry mass comes from a standard oven-drying test.
