Terms of use

Draft text: not yet reviewed by a lawyer. The operator must complete the details in [brackets].

These terms apply to the use of the Sawmill Network Europe platform, an information service that helps companies in the timber industry find each other.

1. What the platform is

The platform publishes company profiles, product offers, buying requests and listings, and lets users contact each other. It is an information marketplace: it does not sell goods, does not take part in contracts between users, does not process payments and does not guarantee delivery, quality or payment.

2. Accounts

You need an account to publish content or write messages. You must give true data, keep your password secret and are responsible for everything done with your account. You must be at least 18 years old and act for business purposes.

3. Content you publish

You are responsible for the content you publish (company data, offers, photos, messages, forum posts). You confirm that it is true, that you may publish it and that it does not infringe the rights of others. You give the operator a non-exclusive licence to display it on the platform for as long as it is published.

Offers and listings expire automatically and must be renewed by the company to stay visible.

4. Not allowed

Untrue or misleading information, impersonating another company, spam and advertising in the forum, harassment, illegal goods or content, collecting data of other users, and attempts to disturb the operation of the platform.

5. Imported company data

Some company profiles are created from public sources and are marked as not verified and not claimed. A company can claim its profile, and can ask for correction or removal of its data at any time through the contact address in the legal notice.

6. Moderation

The operator may hide content, lock discussions, suspend accounts or remove profiles that break these terms or the law. Users can report content in the forum.

7. Liability

The platform is provided "as is". To the extent allowed by law the operator is not liable for the content of users, for the conduct of users towards each other or for interruptions of the service. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

8. Changes and contact

The operator may change these terms; significant changes are announced on the platform. Questions: see the legal notice. Applicable law and court: [to be completed by the operator].
