Allowed: 100 to 1500

Allowed: 0.5 to 12

Allowed: 0.5 to 12

Allowed: 5 to 150

Allowed: 20 to 400

Formula

Board width at a cut = 2 · √(r² − y²)
Square cant: side = d / √2

Assumptions and limits

Simplified geometric model: a perfect cylinder, constant kerf, unedged boards (wane allowed and counted as usable width at the narrower face), no taper, sweep, knots, rot or edging. It shows how kerf and board thickness affect yield, not what your saw will produce.

Results are estimates from simplified formulas. Check them against your own measurements and applicable grading or trade rules before commercial use.
